EWP Electronics & Hydraulics Workshop

The EWP Electronics and Hydraulics Workshop is a 5-day workshop created in consultation with access industry stakeholders and delivered by educational and subject matter experts through the TAFE framework.

The course is intended to provide learning in the fundamentals of Electronics and Hydraulics, tailored specifically to access equipment.

Course delivery is a mixture of theoretical learning, complemented by a heavy practical application model through utilisation of test kits, components and actual physical EWPs.

Why was the EWP Electronics & Hydraulics Workshop created?

Australian Standards require ‘competent’ personnel to undertake service, maintenance and repair of Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs). The definition of ‘competent’ is not prescriptive; this results in much confusion around who is competent to work on MEWPs.

The EWP Electronics and Hydraulics workshop is not a definitive ‘tick’ of competency. Indeed, there is no definitive ‘tick’ for competency. It is however a course developed through consultation with key industry stakeholders (OEM’s and Service/Maintenance specialists), delivered by educational professionals (TAFE) and administered by the EWPAthe access industry’s peak body.

The content and quality of this workshop (and future more advanced workshops) will be continuously reviewed and adjusted to ensure that participants are delivered current, high-quality content.
